A PLANTING WE WILL GO....

This week we are learning all about planting.  We started off learning the life cycle of a plant.  Tomorrow, we will be planting flowers and learning how to take care of them.  We also made a a collage on what plants need to survive.

On May 11th, we honored our Mom's with a little celebration.  We invited our Mom's to our classroom for Moms and muffins.  The children sang songs and enjoyed a snack with their Mom.  It was a very special day and the children as well as the Mom's enjoyed it.

It is the week of the Young Child at the Academy this week.  The students brought in their favorite book.  We also had special readers come from our community to read to us. We are also learning about the letter U.  This week we are continuing our celebration of the wonderful country we live in.  In  kids in the kitchen, we ate apple pie and vanilla ice cream.  We also talked about America's past time baseball, and made flags with our hands.

Spring is Here!

Our countdown to spring!

Last week, the students finally finished our countdown to spring bulletin board. They made flowers for each day leading up to spring.  Butterflies were added to complete this beautiful board.  We also celebrated the arrival of spring by observing grass and flowers with a magnifying glasses in our science table.

INTERNATIONAL WEEK IN PRE-K

This week was international week in our classroom.  Our class learned about Croatia, Mongolia, Ireland, Poland, and of course Amercia!  The student's enjoyed learning about some of their friend's customs.

It was also St. Patrick's day!  We had a leprechaun that has been on the loose in our classroom for a couple of weeks and the children finally captured him. We had a gold scavenger hunt and made leprechaun hats.

Our Lenten project is doing very well.  The children are bringing in their loose change from chores that they are doing at home.  We are excited to see how much we have collected for our friends in Haiti.

Although it feels like summer, the first day of spring is on Wednesday. We will be celebrating with some"spring" like activities.
